Red Lick Artisans Spring Tour 2015

For the second year in a row, the potters of Red Lick Valley invite the public to the Red Lick Artisans Spring Studio Tour for 2015. Because of the success of last year's inaugural event, the Red Lick Artisans have expanded the 2015 Spring Studio tour to two days for the entire Mother's Day weekend, Saturday from 9-6 and Sunday from 10-4.

The Red Lick Artisans Spring Studio Tour is a self-guided driving tour of working artists' studios clustered in the beautiful "Knobs" area of Red Lick Valley straddling Madison and Estill counties, a short drive from Lexington, Ky., a half hour from Richmond and approximately 6 miles east of Berea. Response from the public to last year's inaugural tour was so encouraging, the participants for this year's tour are looking forward to an entire weekend of visitors to tour the studios, purchase unique handcrafted items and enjoy the activities from the many talented artisans in the area.

The uniquely beautiful Red Lick Valley is one of Central Kentucky's quiet treasures. Because the area is rich with natural beauty and extremely talented artists and craftspeople, this second year's tour has 9 different locations to visit with almost two dozen artists and guest artists' work to view and purchase. Some guest artist locations have changed from last year and additional artists have been invited to keep things fresh. In addition to pottery, the art and craft on the tour include paintings, jewelry, woodworking, furniture, textiles, up-cycled works and dance plus an invitation to Snug Hollow Farm in Red Lick Valley in Estill County to meet author, Barbara Napier and enjoy lunch and the scenic trails on the property.

This is a rain or shine event.
